My husband and I are first time parents to a wonderful baby boy! We’ve been so lucky to have such an easy and fun baby that parenthood hasn’t actually been that major of a difference for us, but onto my problem(s).

My son gets a lot of compliments, people do stop us to ask about him and comment on his appearance which is fine, it’s usually tame like “Oh he’s just so adorable” “Such a cutie” but now that’s he’s a bit older we’re getting more comments about “He’s gonna have all the girlies around him” “He’s such a lady killer already” “Be careful when he starts dating!” It just feels weird to me to see a 10 month old and go straight to thinking about the people he’ll potentially date.

Now my most hated phrases told to us. I’ve heard it several times now “What are you gonna do if he’s gay?” “You gonna be upset if your son is gay?” Again, he’s 10 months why is his future sexual identity such a big deal to other people. We get these comments from family and all it shows me is which family member can’t be trusted around my son.
