A year ago I was renting out a room in a single family home, after work one evening I went home but drove past and sat in an empty side road to smoke before going in.
This tan car pulled up behind me and at first I thought it was a couple smoking too and sent a snap video laughing to my friends saying we both use that spot to smoke. Well a minute later 2 men get out, the passenger walked to the back and opened the trunk and the driver got out with a half empty bottle of liquor in his hand and started walking up to my car.
I knew instantly something didn’t feel right and started my car and drove off fast, the street was a dead end so turned around and passed them again, the driver was standing in the road staring at me and I looked in the trunk and it was completely empty. I then noticed them behind me and drove an hour away to stay with my friend that night.
For a week after that happened a tan car was parked right outside my house behind my car, I asked the home owner if she’s ever seen that car parked there and she said never.
I began to get paranoid and decided to move back home until I find a new place to live, which I have. But now I’m scared to go places alone, and I’m overly cautious about everything. I start to get scared when a man stares at me for a second too long.
It made me realize how scary the world is and how vulnerable I am. I’ve never talked about it with anyone but the friend I stayed with, but I think the experience scared me so much it is still affecting my life.
