Idk I feel like when you say you want to date a man with X,Y,Z career you get labeled as a gold digger… but why would I be a gold digger if I’m also working towards those goals?
Honestly it’s just a childhood trauma thing where stability is my #1 priority in a relationship. Yes nothing is 100% stable… but the chances of your housing and comfortablity is way less likely to be disrupted if you have higher finances.
Additionally I really don’t want a guy to rely on me financially and I don’t want to rely on him. It’s one thing for it to be "oh I want to take 4 months off work to work on ____" but way too often do we see men who just lose their jobs or quit their jobs and live off the woman. I don’t want that at all. I want to have seperate, stable income but to combine it whenever we deem necessary (homes, healthcare, etc).
Am I crazy for this? I’m 20 and I’ve never even been in a relationship so idk if I’m being unreasonable but to me it makes sense.
