So the cathedral shut down the economy to get rid of orange man, now watch as they get rid of the Global War on Terror and replace it with a cold war with China.

Watch fairweather libertarians turn into hawks for the establishment as they inform you that yes, we should abolish the state and establish anarchic capitalism, but that we should really buff defense spending, because of how much a "threat" China is. Watch how people who couldn't give 2 shits to learn the difference between Hezbollah and Houthis at any point in the last decade suddenly turn activist to fight for the rights of Muslims in China. Watch as they stop saying that Islam is just an inherently violent faith and it's supporters are a threat to the West (the West, of course, is where liberty and freedom were invented and where rule-of-law exists to protect rights, if you only ignore all the evidence contradicting that narrative), and start crying crocodile tears because China is oppressing them.

These people are, in fact, hypocrites. The only reason they pretend to care about Muslims at all is because they hate China and it's convenient to point at the Uighurs and say, "See? China is fascist! We gotta take them down before they attack US!"

This is the life-cycle of the hawk in action. God forbid we in the US mind our own business, god forbid we stop being the world police, god forbid we actually act like peacemongers instead of concerned Karens with a nuclear deathwish.

Being a libertarian is hard. Only the strong can pull it off. Watch how your friends get weak in the knees on China, just like they did with Isis, just like they did for Israel, just like they did for Iran, just like they did for Al Qaeda, just like they did for Iraq. Watch them capitulate to propaganda and say, "America ought to do something about this!"

Then, look to those who don't.

I'm already against the next war, hot or cold. Are you?
