I know most football eyes are going to be focused elsewhere today, but I wanted to point out tonight is the start of D-III Football and we have a good slate of games to start off.

UW-LaCrosse vs. RPI

UW-Lacrosse will start of their season in Troy, New York playing the Rennessler Polytechnic Institute. UW-L made a deep playoff run last year before losing to eventual runners up North Central. RPI is also the two-time defending Robert M. “Scotty” Whitelaw Bowl Champion beating Widener 49-21 last year.

Buffalo State vs. Brockport

We get some SUNY on SUNY violence as Buffalo State College University travels to Brockport,NY to take on the fighting u/Drexlore’s of SUNY-Brockport. Brockport lost 37-7 to Carnigie-Mellon in the Asa S. Bushnell Bowl last year capping off a 8-2 season, Buffalo State on the other hand went 2-8, but hey, that doubles their win total from 2018-current…

Rowan vs. Stevenson (MD)

Rowan (formerly known as Glassboro State), went 5-5 last year despite being one of the largest schools in D-III. Stevenson is coming off of a 7-4 campaign that saw them lose to Ursinus in the MAC-Centennial Bowl.

Hiram vs. Heidelberg

This matchup of two Ohio schools sees Hiram a small Enrollment under 600) college inbetween Youngstown and Celveland, face off against the slightly bigger Heidelberg school from. Hiram was 1-9 last year and Heidelberg went 6-4, but went 5-4 in coference with a pattern of W-L-W-L-W-L-W-L-W.

Carroll (WI) vs. UW-Stout

In this game, Caroll will leave the comfy confines of suburban Milwaukee and travel to Menominee Falls, where they will face a mediocre UW-Stout team. FUNC FACT: UW- Stout is actually named after a person.

Belhaven vs Millsaps

The battle for Jackson,MS as neighboring schools Belhaven and Millsaps compete to see who the best d-III school in central Mississippi is. I really have no other fun facts about the schools aside from the fact Hal Mumme coached Belhaven for three years in the mid 2010s.

Anyways how’s your local small school gonna do this year? Would love to hear about it. :)
