Occasionally I watch Bill Maher's show on HBO. Though he is quite liberal in his beliefs, he has libertarian points of view occasionally.

Over the weekend he was talking about the cost of college and how a college degree is now the minimum barrier to entry in the corporate world. He talked about how people with years of experience can't get a promotion because they don't have their master’s degree, even though they are more than qualified.

The he starts talking about the Democratic plan to make college "more affordable" and shows a few pictures of some college campuses that have water parks and other amenities.

Then he said what I thought was a brilliant line: "We don't need to make college affordable. We need to make college unnecessary."

Honestly, I can't believe some of the shit you can get a degree in now and I can't believe some of the degree requirements. My nephew was an MP in the air force for 3 enlistments. His plan was to leave the air force and enroll on the New Jersey State Police academy and become a state trooper. Well, sometimes in his third tour enlistment, the NJ State Police now require a college degree before you can apply to the police academy. Why?
