The years leading up to and following the end of Lost produced some of the most chaotic copycat shows in tv history. Has that moment ever happened before or since then?

Lost aired from 2004-2010 for 6 seasons and it remains my all time favorite show but I will always vividly remember so many shows that tried to copy that magic vibe that the early seasons of Lost managed to capture. The lore, mystery, and mythology all worked early on for Lost and all the networks wanted to have a show that felt the same.

Just off the top of my head I can remember the following shows that tried to copy it in some form or another while it aired or in the years that followed.

Fringe (2008) Flashforward (2009) V (2009) The Event (2010) Terra Nova (2011) Revolution (2012)

A current trend I see is shows trying to copy Game of Thrones and find their own big budget fantasy hit. We’ve had The Witcher, The Wheel of Time, The Rings of Power and and an expanded GoT universe with House of the Dragon.
