For me I believe the rumors that Art Schlichter tried to throw games while he was at Ohio State are fact. Given the guy’s massive gambling debt at the time no doubt the bookies were pressuring him to do stuff like that and Schlichter would sometimes have hot and cold moments where he’d light it up one week and then go out and throw four interceptions the next week.
