Everyone keeps claiming this bill is voter suppression but I have yet to see what about it is voter suppression. I have skimmed and/or read most of the 90 page bill and I don't see it. Is there any part of the bill you guys feel is voter suppression?

It's starting to just feel like a left wing talking point not based on anything other than Republicans are doing it so it must be bad. The bill let's you request an absentee ballot up to like 80 days ahead of the vote (I think it said that would be availableelectronically). It requires you to have an ID to vote. It requires 1 voting machine per 250 voters in an area and if a municipality wants less they have to request in writing, which I bet could have to be disclosed to the public if requested (this is conjecture, I have not confirmed). It even installs rank voting for military personnel. I wish it was for everyone but at least it setting legal president for rank voting so hopefully that can get expanded to everyone in the future.

The main talking point I see is the no handing out water even if no polical organisation is solicited will discourage people from voting because it is hot. I have never been given anything while voting and I'm leaning towards this should be standard. My reasoning being that neither party can start saying slowly sneaking in things they are allowed to hand out. Or handing stuff out in plain clothes and verbally talking to people as that would be easier to prove.

I think the almost 80 days to submit an early absentee vote is a good think since who wants to stand in line and frees up the voting day for people who forget or were to busy to apply for whatever reason.

I tried searching the sub for a post on this topic and couldn't find one, but if one exists please feel free to point me that way.

TLDR: I'm not seeing voter suppression, just butt hurt Dems. Change my mind, or don't. It's a free country.
