There have been many college football dynasties form and disappear over stretches of time. Some that come to mind are Nebraska (dominant in the 90s, 7 straight years of 5 wins or less), Florida Gators (2 championships in a 3-year stretch in the early 2000s, 3 straight losing seasons) and Miami (dominant in 80s and early 2000s, only one 10+ win season since 2004).

The next one to fall? I’m predicting Clemson.

The Tigers just finished with their first season with less than 10 wins in 13 seasons. Dabo is resistant to the portal in a league where Florida State and Miami are more than willing to take transfers and pay top-dollar. I believe resisting the portal will create a competitive disadvantage and donors will get impatient with Swinney’s reluctance and he will get pushed out.

This more than likely leads to Clemson returning to the mean of what they are historically: An average to below average program that has random bursts of success but not able to sustain over long stretches of time.

Who do you think will become the next Nebraska, Miami or Florida?
