The national mall is both wide and long enough for a football field, and temp bleachers could be erected. Americas greatest rivalry should be played in America’s Capital.
Think of the pageantry of watching two service academy teams ground pound the ball on the snowy mall, with the US Capitol behind one end zone and the Washington monument behind the other- as cadets and plebes cheer from the sidelines.
Holding it in DC would be great for the service academy’s, increase the pageantry of the game, and be a novel experience. If we can have college basketball tournaments on aircraft carriers, we can have a football game on the national mall.
