For Louisville, there’s a good chance Ashton Gillotte moves into the top 3 all-time for Louisville sacks leaders. The record is 37.5 by Dewayne White. AG has got 22 right now, and had 11 last year, if he can get to 10 in 2024, he’ll be tied for 2nd with Elvis Dumervil (32). He’ll also likely reach top 4-5 all-time for Louisville TFL leaders. He’s at 30.5, and had 14.5 last year. 5th place is at 36.5 so he could likely surpass that by the halfway point in the season.
No other Louisville records are glaringly at-risk this year, although I do expect a heavy passing offense compared to last year, so we’ll see how well Shough slings it in a couple weeks.
An additional thought here - I think a lot of career records will be more safe than they were in the past, with the prevalence of the transfer portal. More and more teams are getting 1- and 2-year rentals instead of having a guy for 4-5 years.
What about your school? Any actual NCAA records in danger? I love reading this thread every year, although I apologize for posting this later than usual this season
