This rant is all over the place but ugh. I had a customer yell at one of my young coworkers today. The mom in me came out and I shamed him for it. He didn’t need to cuss or bully a young girl getting paid minimum wage doing an extremely hard job. She was in tears! The audacity of men like him. Oh and the part that i keep replaying in my head is that his girlfriend came to me to apologize for his behavior.

Me: did he cuss at that young girl? Her: yes and I’m sorry but he was frustrated Me: that isn’t a real excuse Her: yes I’m sorry but… Me: we kick people out who harass staff Her: I’m sorry but…( she was speaking but I couldn’t hear, too busy seeing red) And it just went on like that for a while until she realized I wasn’t going to discount her check. Who thinks after harassing an employee that you deserve a discount??? I probably went overboard but why is she apologizing and making excuses for her boyfriends behavior? I feel so angry and so sad for her. He walked out quietly. She wasn’t mad at him. She thought it was completely fine… It’s not fine. They’re never allowed back.
