I just found out a few weeks ago that the host team I’m the first round can select an alternate site for the game. I’m wondering how often we’ll see that & what the reasons will be when it happens.

Say Georgia hosts a first round game against Wisconsin. It gets cold for us that time of year. Seems to me the strategic move would be to play the game in Atlanta given that our cold is shorts and t-shirt weather for Madison folk.

I’m starting to think opting for neutral sites may end up being more about strategy than insufficient infrastructure to host a playoff game on short notice.
