So in June, I posted about being in the hospital with a terrible infection which really threatened my life. I have incurable cancer and have been on oral chemotherapy for over a year and the side effects of my last med were so bad that I was DONE. No treatment has worked well, the cancer was still spreading, it’s incurable…
Six weeks ago I started my fourth treatment. Within a week, I noticed some things that indicated that the cancer cells may be dying. I went in for a procedure to draw off cancerous fluid from my abdomen last week, a twice a month occurrence for me. Usually they take off 3-5 liters of fluid every 10 to 14 days. They did a quick ultrasound and there was less than half a liter likely in my abdomen.
I don’t get another CT scan until September, but it really looks like cells are actually dying! I was only expecting a slowing of growth, but not this.
I’m terrified to be hopeful because I haven’t had the scan yet… But I thought I would post this update because I’ve been in regular contact with a few Redditors and thought this was worth updating. 💜💜💜
