I honestly cannot think of a worst crafted, more unpleasant, and cringe inducing character on a TV show. From the moment she appeared to the Christmas episode in S3 (her ultimate performance) she just makes me want to throw things and shut the TV off. I don’t even really understand what the point of her character is or why she’s included in the show. Deborah and Eva have such a beautiful and dynamic relationship, and her Mom just appears and is… utterly insufferable. It isn’t funny, it isn’t redeeming, I guess MAYBE it shows us a bit of why Eva has some of her flaws, but overall I just wish she would never return to the show.
I find Kayla grating, but she gives me a chuckle at times and I totally get why she’s there as a foil to Jimmy and for weird and wacky Gen Z hijinks. But her Mom fucking sucks. Just stop already.
I’m curious if anyone can name a character who’s even worse on another show.
