Checking Winsipedia brought me to the amazingly frustrating 1976 Missouri Tigers. This team beat then #8 USC, #2 Ohio State, #14 North Carolina, #3 Nebraska and #14 Colorado, all finished with at least 8 wins, all but North Carolina finished in the top 15, and excluding Colorado, the top ten. However, they got creamed by Illinois between USC and Ohio State, who finished 5-6, creamed by kansas who finished 6-5, and lost 3 other games against Iowa State, Oklahoma State, and Oklahoma by only 1 score (all three teams finished ranked). So, what are your teams seasons of immense frustration where they couldn’t seem to put it all together?
