Other than the underdog and benefiting parties, of course.

I’ll start off with the 2011 Oklahoma State-Iowa State game. Oklahoma State is a school who hadn’t been in that position in generations and hasn’t since (the 2021 team was close, but both wasn’t as good and had a harder road ahead of them). They had a plane crash befall their athletic department before the game. The alternative if they were to lose was the villain of CFB getting a 2nd chance against an opponent they already lost to in their own stadium. It really felt everyone outside of Ames and Tuscaloosa was rooting for Oklahoma State.
