Hope you’re doing well.
I think most of my favorite shows’ fan bases are pretty chill and enjoy sharing their favorite moments and characters, but there are also some shows where some fans are pretty toxic or just aren’t as tolerant of people beginners or people who don’t have the kind of encyclopedic knowledge they do.
Seinfeld fans are pretty cool for the most part and I enjoy participating in discussions, but I think the singular focus from most fans on reciting quotes and jokes rather than talking in-depth about character motivations and other issues the show addresses makes me enjoy the show just a little less than if the fan base had more varied opinions and discussions about other aspects of the show.
How does your favorite show’s fanbase influence your perception or enjoyment of it?
