An example I can think of is a lot of Dr. Cox’s moments from Scrubs. There’s this one episode when Elliot is upset J.D. did not take her side when she thought Dr. Cox was jealous of her being in private practice. While the episode ends with with Elliot seeming to be right, considering she was gloating earlier about leaving early, I think Dr. Cox had a point.

Another example is Dwight in the episode Stress Relief from The Office. First, while it was crazy to stage a fire, he was right in that the office was not prepared and it quickly descended into chaos. Later on, the others call him out for not apologizing to Stanley, which he replies he didn’t make Stanley eat donuts. He maybe a jerk, but even then he is right. While the fake fire caused the heart attack, Stanley had been in poor health.

But what are examples of a fictional jerk in T.V. actually having a point?
