Group A Doom Patrol, Umbrella Academy, Sandman. Group B Legion, Utopia, American gods.
I chose these groupings because unique direction style and overall vibe. To me, Group A is slightly more mainstream. Sandman has its unique artsy scenes like the Lucifer vs Dream and the Diner episode fight but overall it’s less confusing(?) than Group B. I could out it in B but idk I feel like Group A is right. Both are equally as good though. When watching Utopia and Legion I was in awe of the unique choices they made. The music in both are very interesting. I think the concepts, creatures, and experiences in Legion are a bit more awe inspiring while the acting, characters, and environments in Utopia are truly amazing. Doom Patrol and The Umbrella Academy in Group A are both silly and have similar vibes. A dark oldies modernized vibe…? I can’t explain it. I thought American Gods fit more with Group B because of its similarities to Legion. Insane fever dream-like events, cool concepts, and great acting. Both sometimes transport their protagonist into some insane event/vision/idk that makes you question what is real and is very artistic/abstract.
