It started last fall at DKR listening to “Texas Fight”, ad nauseam, and then the question from my four-year-old:

“Do all teams have fight songs?”

“Yeah, buddy, they do.”

“I want to hear ALL of them!!”

So my two boys and I got around to it and they’ve picked their favorite and least favorite from the P5, along with their favorites overall. They’ve chosen to adopt a team this year based on their favorite song. The four-year-old’s responses are first, then the six-year-old’s.

Kids really screwed me on the SEC. Before we started I told them I’d buy them each a jersey of the team they picked, so I now have a four-year-old walking around my house in an Ark jersey for the foreseeable future. I could have done without that, but I agree with the other one that “The Victors” is probably the best in all of football. They both picked teams on our schedule this year, so I made the deal that we could go watch each of them, so we’ll be in Ann Arbor in September and then down in Fayetteville in November.

edit: I did not let the boys listen to Neck. I didn’t find it appropriate to introduce them to something like that so late in life. I should have been playing it through headphones in the womb. They will never fully appreciate it if I do it now.
