Growing up as a child in the 90’s it was understood that "body count’ is the number of people you have killed and something one would brag about for gangsta street cred. I am now hearing this term used in earnest by people referring to the number of people they’ve had sex with and someone actually tried to shame me with it on reddit recently, not even knowing what my number is. Because hell, I don’t know what it is. Frankly once you get to a certain age and level of experience you cease to give a fuck about such trivial things. I stopped counting in my twenties and that was a longass time ago. It pains me that youngsters are giving such gravity to things that, in the grand scheme of things are very insignificant and using such a degrading term for themselves. You shared an intimate experience with someone, that can range from horny meaningless bumping uglies to a spiritual and beautiful nirvana. But regardless they are not a “body”, that usually refers to a dead person or a medical specimen. They are a human being just like you and they and your (consensual) experience with them are deserving of respect.
