I watched the Barbie movie originally out of obligation. I felt so much cognitive dissonance going in, using it as an excuse to wear pink head to toe, and expecting to come out with more body image issues and frustrations about it.
I ended up loving it to the point of obsession. Perhaps it’s one of the few movies lately that have actually made me laugh. I thought it was a little awkward but still…
This movie has a stronghold on my personality right now. I suddenly want to wear pink everything and have purchased barbie product collaborations. Including Barbie crocs. I have plans this week to see it a third time. I’m obsessed. No movie has had a stronghold on me after the main Star Wars series ended. And I’m kinda mad that it was Barbie that made me this excited about a movie again.
