Original Title: Ball State has arguably one of the worst schedules ever this season - a Week 1 Bye, they play just 5 home games this year, they play 5 road games in the span of 6 weeks (Weeks 3-8), and their 2nd Bye Week isn’t a true Bye.
This truly is an awful schedule and the Athletic Director and MAC need to be asked about it. Only 5 home games, 5 road games in a 6-week span (@ Miami FL, @ Central Michigan, @ James Madison, home vs. Western Michigan, @ Kent State, @ Vanderbilt), and neither of their Bye Weeks accomplish much:
- The 1st Bye is Week 1 and they’re essentially just delaying the start of the season and will have an extra week to prepare for Missouri State (FCS).
- The 2nd Bye is Week 10: they host Northern Illinois on Saturday, October 26th and then host Miami OH on Tuesday, November 5th. So it’s not even a full bye, it’s only a 10-day break.
How could this have happened, and have you ever seen a worse schedule than this?
