Apparently the automod wont let me just post without expanding on the topic, so heres my opinion:

I think companies preventing us from repairing our own devices is anti-property; if i bought something, i should be able to fix it at my own risk. Planned obsolescence is making it so you dont own anything; you only lease out devices from the company. It also causes tons of un-needed waste. And the biggest problem is that basically every phone company does the same, so you cant just stop buying from them - a different company willjust find a different way to prevent you from repairing your own product, all in the name of "safety" and "privacy" (by the way, apple knows every time you open an app on their device).

I disagree with thinking that its their product and as such should be able what they want with it - sure, void my warranty, but there are companies that will actively make your phone unusable unless you repair them at their certified store (which are usually either incompetent or obligated not to fix your devices, even if they could).
