i saw this post on r/purplepilldebate and the post was talking about how gross it is that teenagers are commonly sexualized. the comments istg sounded like cave men who entered civilization for the first time through a time machine. “it’s been that way for centuries, teenagers are sexual beings, etc.” like are you serious?

teenagers are “sexual”, yes, but that’s because they’re still DEVELOPING. they’re hormonal and not even fully developed mentally or physically. one guy said teenagers are sexual because puberty gets them ready “for fucking”. so creepy and disgusting. how someone can say that about a teenage child.

and they were trying to argue with facts presented right in front of them just to try to justify their deprived attraction to specifically teenage girls. they were talking about how teenage girls had kids throughout history, etc. but OP provided sources showing that a teenager having a child results in birth defects, etc. and they were so mad about it. like why can’t they just accept teenage girls don’t need to be sexualized? we’re not animals. we’re not in 1200 BC. we’re in a civilized society.

we’ve just started to progress as a human race and actually empathize with women and not treat them like baby machines, sex dolls, etc. that’s why the age of consent has gone up. because society is realizing women are human beings, not property. women should be able to consent due to their own free will, not because a man twice their age told them to before they even developed mentally.

a girl turns 18 and suddenly because of that specific number (that is so heavily sexualized) she is automatically an adult and worthy of being dehumanized by men twice her age. it’s madness.

i’m 20 and my sister is less than 2 weeks away from being 18 and it’s disgusting the things they’re saying about her age group. she isn’t mature, she isn’t mentally developed and she sure as hell won’t magically be totally mature and independent 2 weeks from now.
