In most sitcom shows where a character has constant fantasies or memories (Scrubs, Fresh Off The Boat), every time the character thinks of the memory or imagines something, there is a bright white flash on the screen and a “poof” sound effect. What is the industry name for the white full screen flashes? I have searched a lot and found nothing.
