I’ve always thought and believed in “love at first sight” and all that cute stuff. Never found that, never found a relationship that was even close. But then I met my best friend.
Almost 10 years ago we met and we were friends the second we met. During parts of this we weren’t as close as we had life stuff and just drifted at points but we always knew we were friends and we would be there for each other. Now that we are a bit older and a little more stable in our lives we are inseparable. This girl is like a sister to me. I find myself so lucky I have this woman in my life.
She doesn’t know this and I never want to put this burden on her but she’s the reason I’m still alive and happy today. She’s my rock and when I felt at my worst she was there and I don’t think she even realizes the impact she had. I want to truly be a better person and friend because of her. I’m so proud of the person she has become. I’m so proud that I’m her friend and I’m so lucky and grateful for it. Don’t discount your platonic friendships as truly they can be life saving and I’m eternally grateful for it
