I’m watching S2 after finishing S1 few months back. No spoilers pls as I’m only seen till S02E02 until a man says “Here is submission of the clergy to your majesty’s will”
Help me understand the whole breaking of the church arc in tudors.
Why was it necessary? Just to marry Anne Boleyn? And what other benefits would Henry gain from it?
From a historical pov in real life was it a good or bad thing? Why didn’t people rebel when church was being taken down?
What power did church even have in a Country? How was it superior to the power of a King?
Again no spoilers pls as idk much about history of Tudors. I need to understand it’s context till here in show and don’t need to know what happens in the future.
