Was always curious about this. Hypothetically let’s say you’re an actor and your the lead of a new cop/ medical/ lawyer procedural on CBS/ABC/NBC whatever and you get a 20 episode order from the network. You’re likely filming for a much longer period of time because network shows are often produced on a tighter schedule to meet weekly airing deadlines, requiring faster turnaround times for scripts, shooting, post production etc
Then compare that to being the lead or part of an ensemble of a new Netflix/ Apple/ Amazon show and you only get 8-10 episodes per season you have to film. I assume if the show isn’t a big VFX driven show you’re likely filming for a shorter period of time right?
