Here is every QB since the merger that led the NFL in passing yards and passer rating in the same season:
| Year | Player |
|---|---|
| 2007 | Tom Brady |
| 2001 | Kurt Warner |
| 1984 | Dan Marino |
| 1975 | Ken Anderson |
| 1974 | Ken Anderson |
| 1970 | John Brodie |
Despite back-to-back seasons leading the league in passing yards and rating in '74 and '75, Anderson represents the only season on this list without an MVP. He’d go on to win MVP in '81 and ultimately got the Bengals to the Super Bowl that season where they narrowly lost to the Joe Montana 49ers.
Another Ken Anderson fun fact: he is just 1 of 4 QBs since the merger to lead the league in passer rating at least 4 times in their career (Rodgers, Staubach, and Young).
