Am I missing something? This is one of the most acclaimed series and over the past few years has kept winning awards left, right and centre.
So I thought I give it a try and watched 4 episodes of the first season but I find it extremely stupid.
Is this a stab at MI6 to portray them as dumbest imbeciles? Field agents are supposed to be hardened soldiers. These people are just useless morons.
Here are a few examples: Imagine you are following the most dangerous assassin known to humanity. Wouldn’t you expect an experience agent like Bill to either keep his distance, wait for backup or at least take a gun for protection?
Imagine you are the best assassin on the planet and part of a secretive crime syndicate. Wouldn’t you dread showing your face? Or you happily go around serving people out do public executions?
Imagine your secretive agency sends you with two other assassins on a secret mission. What’s the likelihood that one of them being your ex lover? What’s the likelihood that your agency that presumably trained you doesn’t know about that?
What’s the likelihood that your almighty agency assign a plumber to handle their best assassin?
Don’t get me started on stupid car chase scene in British country side or the whole I kill my boyfriend because he calls me pumpkin.
Or the Uber secretive criminal organisation that transfer bribes directly to their mole’s children school.
Every scene is stupid and cringe. There are a lot of sex references. Is that the appeal?
Also good guys are very diverse when bad guys are all White Russians. I think diversity is their strength because they don’t have any other redeemable characteristic.
Why everyone is so crazy about this show? I am lost here.
