Since before the birth of superhero comics, comic strips were the go-to source of sequential art entertainment in short form for readers. Although the books of Marvel and DC would soon overshadow the newspaper strip, some of them remained strong throughout the 20th century, with some still running to this day. These comics are as diverse and dynamic as any other medium, ranging from crime and vigilante stories to slice-of-life and comedy strips.
Just like comic books, comic strips have inspired a variety of films and TV series, producing stories just as fun as their source material. While some of these films have been notoriously bad, others have gone down as some of the most iconic films of their decade, still maintaining relevance today. These movies use elements of satire, escapism, parody and relatable situations to earn the love of viewers and fans.

I’ve seen the original run of St Trinian’s (can’t remember if I’ve seen the 1980 one) and the 2007 film is mediocre in comparison. A better pick would be The Belles of St Trinian’s but, even then, it wouldn’t make #2.
You could possibly have got Gemna Bovary and Prince Valiant on the list, perhaps Gemma Bovary.
