Having grown up in Baton Rouge and attending LSU in undergrad during the 2019 season, I’ve been a big LSU fan my entire life. After coming to Tulane for law school during the 2022 season, I’ve since become a huge Tulane fan. So it always pains me that LSU and Tulane, two schools who used to have an intensely heated, if lopsided, rivalry haven’t played each other since 2009 and haven’t played each other consistently since 1996. It’s also why I was so happy to see the rivalry recognized in CFB25.
Thinking about this as often as I do, it got me thinking about other rivalries that have since died, whether because of conference realignment, some falling out between the ADs at the two schools, or whatever other reason. Like the Battle for the Rag, what are some rivalries your school used to play frequently that have since died out in modern times?
