A character that comes to mind that fits this is Cordia Chase on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. On the outside she comes off as the stereotypical mean girl and bully but she also is shown to have a softer more empathetic side even to those she says she doesn’t like. In one instance Buffy is seen crying in the library about something and Buffy turns to Cordelia with tears in her eyes and asks Cordelia for a ride home and Cordelia says yeah anything. Now Cordelia has no real reason to help Buffy and has often been shown to hate throughout her three season run on the show but still helps her out anyways. She has also been seen helping out others at times and even sticking up for others she says she doesn’t like. She also rescues several characters with her car at the end of season one
