During the late 90s and 00s, plenty of teams reached their first Super Bowl. The Chargers made their only appearance in 1994, the Falcons made their first of two appearances in 1998, the Titans made their only appearance in 1999, the Ravens made their first of two appearances in 2000, the Buccaneers made their first of two appearances in 2002, the Panthers made their first of two appearances in 2003, the Seahawks made their first of three appearances in 2005, the Cardinals made their only appearance in 2008, and the Saints are the most recent team in 2009.

Within fifteen years, nine teams made their first Super Bowl, leaving only four teams left; the Texans, the Jaguars, the Browns, and the Lions. None of them have had much of a shot, either.

Since 2009:

Houston Texans: 7 playoff appearances, 5 playoff wins, never made it past Divisional Round

Jacksonville Jaguars: 2 playoff appearances, 3 playoff wins, never made it past Conference Championship

Detroit Lions: 4 playoff appearances, 2 playoff wins, never made it past Conference Championship

Cleveland Browns: 2 playoff appearances, 1 playoff win, never made it past Divisional Round

The Texans have had the best shot, with the most appearances and wins, but have never had more than one win in a single postseason. The Jags had a good run in 2017, and the Lions captured both wins in 2023, but were just barely unable to secure a Super Bowl berth. The Browns just look miserable.
