I am really struggling with this show and looking for feedback. This sort of show is really in my wheel house.
I have done two episodes and I don’t love it. It is well crafted from a production stand point minus the score, what I am struggling with how absurd all the characters are acting.
The immediate setup is some guy (Jeevan) who isn’t a medical professional leaps on stage in a gigantic theater because he realizes the actor on stage is having a heart attack. Umm ok.
He then eyes some random little girl and a couple of steps later he is taking her to her home. OK WTF… maybe later on there will be an explanation of that. It just a little contrived.
Then we jump to the future and now there is a bunch hipsters running a Shakespearian theater troop in the post apocalyptic mid west. … Umm ok, it is only a couple of episodes in and maybe more well flesh out, thing is all the characters are acting like college freshmen who are spending a long weekend at Burning Man.
On top of that there is a real mismatch with the music of scenes and the tone of those scenes. An upbeat Dillon song as Jeevan and Kirsten are leaving the apartment to trek across the land of the dead Chicago.
