It seems to me that the vast majority of technological progress occurred during the 150 years or so when liberalism was the norm around the world, around 1775-1925. Even on the face of it, it's clear that there have been less developments since then, but recently I've discovered a lot of the recent progress we have made with computers and digital information is mostly momentum from WWII. And those technologies have been primarily discovered in highly liberal countries like the US and Japan, which are becoming mor authoritarian by the minute.
Am I totally off-base here? What do you guys think? I truly believe we've left the golden age of human liberty and are descending back into the authoritarian dark ages. Within our lifetimes, progress may halt altogether. Unless we make a change.
