WE’RE GOING THROUGH EACH P4 TEAM’S SCHEDULE AND PICKING EVERY GAME.

Today we have the Louisville Cardinals.

2023 saw the first 10 win season in Louisville’s history in the ACC. Jeff Brohm’s tenure got off to an excellent start, but a lot of that was due to an extremely favorable schedule. In 2024 things will be a little tougher, but this team could be even better than last year’s.

I currently have Louisville as a dog in just 3 games this year (at Notre Dame, at Clemson, at Kentucky) and 2 others where they will be coin flip favorites (SMU, Miami). It is imperative that the Cards defend home turf this year as they will be lucky to win one of the ND, Clemson, UK games on the road.

The Miami game in Louisville will be massive for both teams. The winner of that game could be crowned as the true 3rd contender to make it to Charlotte at the end of the year. Sandwiched between that Miami game and the trip to Clemson is the trap game of all trap games at Boston College. If Louisville does beat Miami, it would setup a ranked matchup in Death Valley, so long as they take care of business in Boston first.

Louisville fans should feel good about their team this year, but the one thing they haven’t done recently is get over the hump and beat rival Kentucky, with only 1 win in the past 7 games. It will be tough to do on the road, but it may be their best chance in years and it could be a game that will put their playoff implications on the line.

This team has portaled extremely well and is set up to make another ACC run. There are questions surrounding Tyler Shough and his ability to stay healthy, but he will have weapons around him, including former Alabama WR Ja’Corey Brooks.

I see a floor of 7-5 if Shough deals with injuries and the run game is not there to lean on, but this team can get to 10-2 if they take care of business and just grab one upset. I like them to beat Miami at home if they are full strength and prefer 9-3 over 8-4.

How do you see it?
