Josh McDaniels and Adam Gase would be the popular answers for this more recently but I feel like Rich Kotite defines this in a nutshell. That man was a lazy jackass who would smoke cigars at practice and literally didn’t care about what his players did during the week in practice as long as they brought it for “60 minutes on Sundays”. It still boggles my mind that the Jets hired him immediately after his failed stint in Philly (not even taking into account giving him GM powers in his second year).
