obligatory “NOT ALL MEN” before someone angrily dms me. If you’re a guy and this doesn’t apply to you, I’m not talking about you. Anyway, the over sexualization of women is beyond irritating.
Especially in gaming and other animated media. I actually don’t mind the designs themselves. I view the female form as a piece of art. The bodies themselves aren’t the problem. It’s the situations they’re put into and the men’s constant corny ass “jokes” about it.
I can’t look at a single game without seeing guys say shit like “aLL oF uS pLaYiNg WiTh oNe hAnd”. Dont even get me started on anime. Again, the designs themselves are their problem. But it makes me so uncomfortable watching the female character be borderline sexually assaulted constantly and having all of these uncomfortable angles like panty shots or jello titty physics.
I can’t escape the dumb comments from real life situations too. Women will be working out in videos and as soon as you go to the comments, all you see it “sHe kNoWs wHaT sHe’S dOiNg”, “wE mUst StAy foCuSeD bRoTherS”, “SiGh, uNZiPs pAnTs”
Like it’s so annoying and predictable. I get that it’s a joke but it’s become repetitive and I can’t help but think that guys that say shit like this are simple minded. Especially when they sexualize women that aren’t even trying to cater to their gaze
When they act like that it gives the vibe that they watch too much porn and it’s really gross. Especially when you know guys like that in real life and they actually send you porn. I’ve had more than one male friend and actual romantic interest do this.
