How do I get a hold of Netflix lawyers in order to pitch a documentary guaranteed to be viral? I don’t want to be sued or go to jail.
I don’t want to go to jail or get sued releasing the tapes.
I was a part of a reality TV show (not Porn) with the wildest pitch anyone has ever heard most likely used as a shell company as the producer ended up being arrested for fraud in another country years later.
I can prove this because I have the video tapes their cameramen filmed all around the world from celebrities to sports athletes because I was hired as an editor.
This was mid-2000s
Another editor on the team with me researched doing a doc on this back a few years ago after it had ended. He also knew it was a goldmine and crazy story but a lawyer said since we signed NDAs we could be sued and so he abandoned it.
Can I be sued if it was all fraud through multiple other countries?
The other editor is a bleeding great director and we were going to make this together because I have what he doesn’t have…
All the behind the scenes video I have.
Working overtime as often as I could because I would make bank gave me the opportunity to film.
I don’t know how deep the rabbit hole goes, I can’t even say it actually was illegal because I am not sure, I was paid from other companies in foreign countries to …well I don’t want to give it all away here. But I thought it was interesting and potentially shady so when we knew it was our last week as the last employees in the company besides the executives to be fired, I copied the hard drives and have hard drives from the TV show itself. I have graphics to inserts to behind the scenes, to hidden camera footage to interviews to so much more.
I’ve waited on this for almost a decade.
I’ve been dying to tell this story and well, even if sued I don’t have anything to lose, so posting it here.
Because if the company was fraud and the CEO I believe is now in prison in a foreign country, how can I be sued?
I can’t say the name here.
I guarantee you the title alone will have every Netflix subscriber clicking on it.
TLDR: I know Netflix purchase’s docs but do they also finance? I figure they have a robust legal team and this doc requires legal discussion first before production though story and footage is all there. So how would I get a hold of their lawyers?
