Teen Wolf remains an iconic series, and in my eyes it’s more iconic than some of the series released during this period: The Vampire Diaries or True Blood. The charm of The Vampire Diaries wears off after 3/4 seasons out of 8, as it’s clear that they don’t have much in the way of plot ideas and characters who become caricatures of what they were when Kevin Williamson was in charge. Teen Wolf, however, in its first two seasons, has this charm, this vibe that’s pretty cheesy but assumes it. Season 3 is probably one of the greatest seasons ever, with incredibly good writing and impressive performances. Seasons 4, 5 and 6 are quite confusing, but still work because the characters feel like real people, evolving and retaining their different personalities, which brings that charm to the series. Although in season 1, these characters are used as mere clichés, by season 2 they evolve into real people with their own complexities and personalities. For me, the series remains one of the most inventive in terms of plot and character development.
