WE’RE GOING THROUGH EACH P4 TEAM’S SCHEDULE AND PICKING EVERY GAME.
Today we have the Houston Cougars
Opposed to yesterday, this is one 2-10 prediction that I am much more confident in.
Willie Fritz gets his rebuild going in Houston and was not given a very workable schedule in year 1. In the out-of-conference slate they can only hope to go 2-1, and even the UNLV game won’t be easy.
In conference, their home slate is extremely difficult as they have host Iowa State, Utah, and Kansas State. The Baylor game in November is one that they will feel they have a shot in, but I only see a max of 3 wins at home this season.
On the road is where things get interesting, as they’ll have to travel to fellow bottom feeders Cincinnati and BYU. Those are two games that they could get, but I just see this team being a step behind both opponents in 2024.
I have confidence in Fritz to get this program going in the new Big12, but I don’t see it happening in year 1. I only see 5 winnable games on this schedule and the floor is genuinely 1-11 if they can’t beat UNLV.
How do you see it?
