For us you could pick almost the entirety of Mike Brown’s reign of terror pre-Marvin in the 90s but 2002 was the absolute worst due to how much of a mess our QB situation was at the time and how much Mike was trying to force guys that he invested high draft picks on into the starting lineup against the coaches’ wishes just to make himself look like less of an idiot for drafting them.
It was week 5 and we were already on our third starting QB of the season at 0-4 (Jon Kitna) and Dick LeBeau had publically said that Kitna would start every game for the rest of the season because he knew we desperately needed continuity at the position. Two weeks later Brown is publically undermining his HC by saying that he thinks Akili Smith still has a bright future in Cincinnati and that they might go back to him as the starter if the losing continues (and then Joe Germaine is brought over from NFL Europe which throws even more confusion into the QB room). That whole situation just reeked of excessive owner meddling at the time.
