Brothers and sisters of /r/CFB/, we have once again came upon July 1st. It’s Realignment Day!

Today is the day that a total of six FBS schools will change conferences.

One school will also be moving up a subdivision, moving from the FCS to the FBS.

The exceptions are the majority of schools departing from the PAC-12 (RIP).

While Cal and Stanford (ACC), Oregon and Washington (Big 10) and Utah, Colorado, Arizona and Arizona State (Big 12) are set to leave, they will not officially join their new conferences until August 2nd, due to their old conference having a different operating schedule.

Joining the ACC is:

  • Southern Methodist University (departing the AAC)

Joining the Big 10 is:

  • University of California, Los Angeles (departing the PAC-12)
  • University of Southern California (departing the PAC-12)

Joining the SEC are:

  • University of Oklahoma (departing the Big 12)
  • University of Texas at Austin (departing the Big 12)

Joining C-USA is:

  • Kennesaw State (departing the ASUN of FCS)

The American, Mountain West, MAC and Sun Belt will not be gaining new full-time members this year.

Down in the FCS, four schools will be joining new conferences. Those being:

  • Chicago State University (moving from independent to the NEC)
  • Mercyhurst University (moving from D2’s PSAC to the NEC)
  • Stephen F. Austin State University (moving from the WAC to the SLC)
  • University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (moving from the WAC to the SLC)
  • University of West Georgia (moving from D2’s Gulf South to the ASUN)

Along with that, 15 schools will be joining new conferences as affiliate members.

Joining the Big 12 as affiliates are:

  • University of Florida (women’s lacrosse)
  • Old Dominion University (women’s rowing)
  • San Diego State University (women’s lacrosse)
  • University of Tulsa (women’s rowing)
  • University of California, Davis (women’s lacrosse)

Joining the AAC as an affiliate is:

  • United States Military Academy (football)

Joining C-USA as an affiliate is:

  • Wichita State (bowling)

Joining the MAC as an affiliate is:

  • James Madison University (field hockey)

Joining the Mountain West as an affiliate is:

  • Washington State University (baseball & women’s swimming)

Joining the NEC as affiliates are:

  • Cleveland State University (men’s lacrosse)
  • University of Detroit Mercy (men’s lacrosse)
  • Robert Morris University (football & men’s lacrosse)
  • Virginia Military Institute (men’s lacrosse)
  • University of Maryland Eastern Shore (men’s volleyball)

Joining the WAC as affiliates are:

  • San Diego State University (men’s soccer)
  • University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (men’s soccer & women’s swimming)
