Many shows have armies of bad guys that are hordes of mindless or genetically evil creatures like orcs, aliens, or monsters. The narrative treats all of these beings as pure evil beings that exist only to kill and subjugate, and are therefore underserving of life, so it’s OK that the main characters not only kill them en masse, but even go out of their way to exterminate and genocide them. There are no exceptions, every single member of the race is evil from birth and can’t be redeemed or even reasoned with. You either kill them, or they will kill you.
This is very prevalent in old fantasy works and sci-fi, although more modern media seems to be going out of its way to avoid this trope. We are now getting more subversions, by giving us heroic characters of traditionally evil races like orcs and goblins.
So what are your thoughts on “evil races”?
