Hope you’re doing well.
Been recently watching Agents of Shield and Agent Melinda May I feel fits this archetype I described in the title and I like character’s backstory being slowly revealed and seeing why she is the way she is and her gradually starting to show the layers behind her tough exterior.
I also remember Teal’c on Stargate SG-1 was one of the first times I’d seen a character with these kinds of traits and waiting for each episode to uncover more of his backstory on Chulak and his peoples’ war with the Goa’uld and his quest to bring freedom to his home while helping the SG-1 team was a very fun journey for me as a viewer.
