Occasionally I will see a G5 commit with an offer from an Ivy League. When it’s Eastern, I’m happy to have them. But as a parent, if Harvard comes calling, you go to fucking Harvard. Technically they don’t offer scholarships (pending court cases), but the Ivies can and do provide full rides for anyone not a billionaire. A Harvard degree will have you set for life even if you have student loans, an exercise science degree from West Bumblefuck State, prolly not.

So what’s happening here? Do they offer without checking grades and the kids know they don’t have them? Good students from bad high schools just intimidated by the name? Delusional dreams of the NFL? About a dozen Ivy leaguers are in the NFL now anyway. Dumb 17 year olds making dumb 17 year old decisions?
